Since 1979, I have photographed people, landscapes, and places, working primarily in black and white. I colored my landscapes with traditional photo oils, while everything else remained uncolored, toned to create a sense of timelessness.
In 2022, I transitioned to shooting exclusively with a digital camera. After some experimentation, I can match the same tones and palette I used in my film photography.
For my family history books, my interest in the subjects drove the research I found so fascinating. This allowed me to tell their stories through both documentation and photographs.
Compiling my photography into books is a project I had envisioned for years; the books are organized by decade, beginning in 1979.
